Following the attack on Forest Range Officer (FRO), the ZP vice chairman Koneru Krishna was asked to resign to his position. He resigned to the vice chairman post and Kaghaznagar ZPTC post as well.

Krishna Rao's resignation was accepted by his brother and MLA Koneru Konappa.

Krishna Rao attacked the forest range officer along with his followers when the latter was carrying out afforestation works at Sarsala. Rao is learned to have disrupted the work of the forest officials which ensued to an argument.

In a fit of rage, Krishna and his followers attacked the officials in which the FRO was injured.
