Coronavirus in Tirupati: The day witnessed a huge number of 182 discharges of Covid positive patients as they are cured and tested negative while in isolation. From Sri Padmavathi Covid care centre where asymptomatic and those with mild symptoms are admitted, 173 patients are discharged at a stretch on Sunday evening taking the total discharges from this facility to 521. At present, 223 patients are under admission at this centre.

The centre's special officer and TUDA secretary S Lakshmi, Ruia Hospital superintendent Dr T Bharati, Covid-19 nodal officer Dr S Subba Rao and others were present on the occasion and gave away discharge summaries to the patients. The state Covid hospital attached to SVIMS has discharged another nine patients on the day while another 213 patients are being treated there who belong to various districts.

The Covid cases tally has gone up to 1,892 by 3 pm on Sunday out of which 815 were discharged and 14 deaths took place leaving 1,248 active cases at various Covid hospitals and Covid care centres.
