5 burglars held, property worth Rs 27 lakh seized
The Amalapuram Division police in East Godavari arrested five persons and recovered property including gold jewellery worth of Rs 27 lakh.
Kakinada: The Amalapuram Division police in East Godavari arrested five persons and recovered property including gold jewellery worth of Rs 27 lakh. Disclosing the details to media, district Superintendent of Police Adanan Nayeem Asmi said the arrested five were professional offenders and they were involved in several cases. They are Undi Siva Subrahamanayam, Nadipalli Jagadamba, Yeditha Satyanarayana, Challaboyina Kishore Kumar and Dake Surayya.
The police recovered 664 grams of gold jewellery, 6 two-wheelers, Rs 2.5 lakh worth of electronic goods-- all worth nearly 27 lakh. On this occasion, the Superintendent of Police complimented Amalapuram DSP SM Basha and staff for the recovery of the valuable property and arresting the five accused burglars.
They did a commendable job in nabbing the culprits, who have become a menace in Amalapuram. He cautioned the residents to lock their houses properly before venturing out to prevent such type of thefts in future. He sought their cooperation with the police in preventing crimes in various towns.
