6 nabbed for selling ganja; 10 kg contraband seized
Chinnabazar police arrested six persons, who were selling ganja in the city and have seized 10 kg banned substance and cash of Rs 3,500 from them.
Nellore: Chinnabazar police arrested six persons, who were selling ganja in the city and have seized 10 kg banned substance and cash of Rs 3,500 from them. The accused were identified as V Suresh Prabha, K Praveen, K Surya, P Deva, Shaik Nasar and B Bujjamma.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, city in-charge DSP Mariyadasu said that the accused were selling ganja in 10-gram packets for Rs 100 each in the city to the target customers. The accused were addicted to bad habits and planned to earn easy money through sale of the contraband.
Cases were filed against the accused Suresh at Nawabpeta, Chinnabazar, and Kovur police stations. A suspect sheet has been opened against Suresh at Vedayapalem police station during 2018,' said the in-charge DSP. Cases were filed against Shaik Nasar, K Praveen and K Surya at Vedayapalem, Nellore rural, Chinnabazar and Kovur police stations, he added.
Mariyadasu said that they would take stern action against people involved in ganja trade. Chinnabazar Circle Inspector I Srinivasan and Sub-Inspector Balaramaiah were present.
