ACB foist cases to achieve targets, allege victims
The State government employees claiming themselves to be Anti Corruption Bureau victims, alleged that wrong charges were framed against them to gain appreciation from the leaders of the previous TDP government.
Vijayawada: The State government employees claiming themselves to be Anti Corruption Bureau victims, alleged that wrong charges were framed against them to gain appreciation from the leaders of the previous TDP government. In this regard, the employees appealed to the YSRCP government to form a high power committee to look into the matter and then take action on them.
Addressing the media persons at the Press Club here on Sunday, the ACB victims alleged that under the leadership of the then ACB Director General RP Thakur, the ACB officials targeted government employees by forming teams, conducted raids and by foisting cases to harass them and their relatives.
They recalled that earlier in ACB raids, cases were registered on the employee. But in the last five years, cases were filed by the ACB on the employees and were arrested and sent to remand to harass them.
They alleged that false cases were filed on the employees on disproportionate assets and corruption charges only to achieve their targets set by the department. They said that though the employees are sincere, raids were conducted by the ACB.
They said that about 345 employees have been charged with false cases by ACB in the last five years starting from and Attendar to Additional Commissioner. ACB victims P Venkateshwara Rao, M Madhav, P Subramanyam and others from across the state were present.
