Dist grabs U-14, U-17 State fencing championship in Ongole
The president and general secretary of the Prakasam District Fencing Association, Balisetty Nageswara Rao and V Nageswara Rao announced that the teams from the Prakasam district have won the state level overall championship in the two-day tournament held in the Balajirao Tirupati Kalyanamandapam in Ongole on Saturday and Sunday.
Ongole: The president and general secretary of the Prakasam District Fencing Association, Balisetty Nageswara Rao and V Nageswara Rao announced that the teams from the Prakasam district have won the state level overall championship in the two-day tournament held in the Balajirao Tirupati Kalyanamandapam in Ongole on Saturday and Sunday.
V Nageswara Rao announce ind that the Prakasam district won the first place while East Godavari district won the second, Anantapuram district won the third and Guntur district won the fourth place in the Under-14 category.
He said that in the Under-17 category, Prakasam district won the first as the Kurnool district won the second, West Godavari district won the third and Kadapa district won the fourth places.
The secretary V Nageswara Rao and the president Balisetty Nageswara Rao announced that around 300 players from all 13 districts in the state have participated in the tournament and it is a sign for the increasing support for the game. They congratulated the winning teams and encouraged them to do more in the coming tournaments.
