Governor to celebrate his birthday with tribal, Dalit students

Vijayawada: Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan will celebrate his 86th birthday on Saturday. He will be completing 85 years.

According to Governor's secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena, the Governor will participate in social service activities and cultural programmes as part of the birthday celebrations at the Raj Bhavan.

The priests of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam will bless the Governor with Vedic hymns.

After that, he will be participating in the cake cutting programme in the presence of tribal and Dalit students. He will also present new clothes and notebooks to them.

Meena said that a few classical programmes which showcase the cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh will be performed. Afterwards, the Governor will participate in a blood donation camp organised by the Red Cross Society at Andhra Loyola College. The Governor will plant some samplings on the college premises.

As Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is on foreign tour, Minister for Civil Supplies Kodali Nani and Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas will extend birthday greetings to the Governor at Raj Bhavan on behalf of the government.

BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana and other leaders will meet the Governor.

Leaders of different parties, heads of different non-governmental organisations (NGO), the police officials and others are going to participate in the birthday celebrations of the Governor.
