Amaravati: The high tension continues over the cancellation of the Polavaram Hydel project tender. The state government is ready to cancel the tender, but the suspense continues over the centre's decision on the issue.
The tendering process for the construction of the Polavaram Hydroelectric station has gone into the court of the central government. The Center is considering the decision taken by the AP government to call the project headworks and construction of hydro-power station as a single tender.
So far, the Polavaram Hydel project is under the state government, and the Polavaram irrigation project is under the center limits. The state government oversees the project construction works.
Now, the state government has decided to merge these two project works as a single tender which has to get approved by the central government. The center's stand is yet to be known on whether to call the tenders for the project works.
