Vijayawada: As part of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme launched by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for creating voter awareness, the District Collector and district election officer MD Imtiaz appealed to all the people to cast their vote in the upcoming elections and elect their representative.

In this regard, the Collector on Friday organised a meeting with the members of hotel owners association to sensitise about casting vote. Speaking on the occasion, he said that as per the orders of the EC they have been organising various programmes across the district to educate people on casting their vote freely without the influence of money, alcohol, caste and religion.

He said that the members of hotel owners association should feel the responsibility to create awareness through banners and stickers inside hotels and educate the youth the importance of their vote.

He said that the owners of online food delivery chains like Dominos, Zomato, Swiggy, Food Panda, Max Delivery and others should provide information of polling day (April 11) while delivering food to the customers to create awareness, said the Collector.Joint Collector Krithika Shukla, Sub-Collector Misha Singh, members of Vijayawada hotel owners association were present.
