Gopavaram: The social audit has exposed the irregularities in the activities and funds of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act Scheme. Under this scheme, more than five crores of work have been undertaken in Gopavaram Mandal in Kadapa district. As part of the social audit of the 11 lakh works conducted by the Kaluvapally Panchayat, the collector suspended Assitant Program Officer (APO) Narasimhulu and three others. Local MPDO Nagarjunureceived order to this extent.

Employment works were undertaken from April 2018 to March 2019 in Kaluvapally Panchayat. The social audit found that up to 11 lakhs of Muster's corrections and one-day names were registered for the week. Authorities have handed over the reports to DWAMA PD. The MPO said that APO Narasimhulu, EC Sivashankar Reddy, Technical Assistant Satyavani and Field Assistant Khadar had been suspended based on the report submitted to Collector Hari Kiran.

In this backdrop, MPDO appoints Venugopal Reddy as interim APO while Subramaniam has EC.
