Kurnool: The Allagadda police booked a case against Bhuma Jagat Vikyat Reddy, younger brother of former Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, for forcibly taking away his followers who were detained in police station on Monday.

According to Allagadda Circle Inspector G V Subramaniyam, one S Narasimhulu, a loyalist of TDP was an accused in a case. He was apprehended and detained in the station on Sunday. While the police were securing more details from the accused, Jagat Vikyat Reddy along with his followers reached the station and forcibly took away the accused Narasimhulu from the station.

Though the Assistant Sub Inspector and a constable obstructed Vikyat Reddy from taking away the accused, he did not heed them. Vikyat Reddy has taken the law into his hands which is highly offensive, said Subramaniam. The incident was brought to the notice of higher authorities. Following the orders of Allagadda Sub Division Police Officer (SDPO) Pothu Raju, police rushed to the house of Bhuma Akhila Priya, where the accused Narasimhulu was given shelter. The accused was taken into custody and brought back to station.

While the accused is being brought back to station, police also searched for Vikyat Reddy but he was not found, the CI said. As Vikyat Reddy violated the law, a case was filed under sections 353, 224, 225 and 212 IPC. A man hunt was launched to nab Jagat Vikyat Reddy, added the CI.
