Kurnool: A day after marriage, the groom of the newly wedded couple tested Covid-19 positive and was shifted to isolation. According to information, the groom is resident of Marriman Thanda in Pathikonda constituency and was working at a hospital in Hyderabad.

His marriage was performed with a woman in Veldurthy mandal on June 12 (Friday) in the presence of members of both the families. But unfortunately, the groom was tested positive with which he was shifted to isolation ward. The bride and members of both families were shifted to quarantine centre.

The District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), Dr Rama Giddaiah said to The Hans India on Saturday that the blood samples of the groom were taken when he entered Kurnool at border check-post.. His samples were sent to lab for testing. But the marriage was performed before the arrival of results. After noticing he is positive patient, our medical team rushed to Marriman Thanda and shifted him to isolation ward, the DMHO said.

The bride and members of both families were also shifted to quarantine centre. Their blood samples were taken and sent to lab for testing. However, there is no need to panic, it is a matter of 14 or 28 days he would recover and will get discharged, stated Dr Rama Giddaiah.
