Srisailam: AP Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav will be lifting the Srisailam dam gates on Friday. With the continuous rainfall in the upper catchment areas, the floodwater levels increased at Almatti, Narayanpur, Jurala project.
The water inflow is increasing at the Srisailam reservoir and reaching to its full capacity. With this, the officials have decided to open the gates of the project.
Minister Anil Kumar Yadav will be opening four gates of Srisailam reservoir and releasing the water to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. Telangana minister Niranjan Reddy along with MLAs of Srisailam, Achchampeta, Devarkadra, Kalwakurthy, Nagarkurnool will also attend the program.
Currently, the AP and Telangana states are generating full electricity with Srisailam reservoir and releasing 74,654 cusecs to Sagar.
The officials are releasing 20,000 cusecs to SRMC canal, 338 cusecs to Handri Neeva canal with Pothireddypadu head regulator. 735 cusecs to KC canal from Muchumarri lift and 1,600 cusecs are being released by Kalwakurthy lift in Telangana.
