Expressing serious concern on extensive usage of plastic in Tirumala, Tirumala Special Officer (SO) AV Dharma Reddy called upon the senior officials to come out with concrete plans to curb usage of plastic.
Tirumala: Expressing serious concern on extensive usage of plastic in Tirumala, Tirumala Special Officer (SO) AV Dharma Reddy called upon the senior officials to come out with concrete plans to curb usage of plastic. During the senior officers meeting held at the camp office of SO in CRO on Tuesday he said, inspite of ban on plastic, there is an extensive usage of plastic bottles.
The ban on usage of plastic bottles should be strictly observed in all departments in Tirumala first. Later, in a phased manner it should be extended to pilgrims after making necessary alternative arrangements, he observed. He asked the officers to come up with suggestions for discussion in the next weekly review meeting.
Dharma Reddy also asked the police officials to maintain traffic regulation in Tirumala as the parking rules are completely violated by private vehicles in Tirumala causing inconvenience to pilgrims.
The SO said, department-wise review meeting will be held with the officers of Tirumala from first week of August onwards. CE Chandrasekhar Reddy, SE 2 Ramachandra Reddy, SE Electrical Venkateswarlu and other heads were also present.
