Vijayawada: ITI Staff Association president Koneru Srinivasa Rao said that the decision of the government to pay Rs 10,000 scholarship to the ITI students will go a long way in helping in the development of ITI education in the State.

Srinivas Rao hailed the State government's decision and thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Minister for Labour, Employment Gummanur Jayaram. He said that announcement of scholarships and to merge in Skill Development centres would help in developing 84 government ITIs across in the state.

The Association Secretary, K Ratnaraju said that the ITIs were in crisis till the date with the lack of allocation of any funds for their development and opined that the merger into the skill development centres will enhance the infrastructure and labs in the colleges.
