Actor Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur held a press-meet in Mumbai to promote their forthcoming period drama Kalank.

The film has dropped four massive hits, in which fans have seen Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and Varun Dhawna performing dance routines.

When asked Sonakshi Sinha about any song featuring her performing any dance routine in the film, she said, "You have struck a nerve with that; I have not danced in the film, unfortunately, I wanted to dance but my character, Satya, and she is in situation where she is not able to be part of song and dance. But Alia has danced in front of Madhuri Dixit and I think it would have been a surreal experience for her"

The trailer and songs of the film are a massive hit with fans and audience is eager to watch the period drama in theaters. Talking about the response, Sonakshi said, "Response from the Industry has been all positive. The feedback and reactions from Industry and fans has been really positive, film lovers across the country have been telling us that they haven't seen such a film in a long time, the grandeur and magnificence of the film have been not seen in a long time. So it has been positive"

Kalank is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios.

It stars Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Kunal Khemu and Kiara Advani in the leading roles. It is a period drama set in 1945 in the pre-independence British era.

The film is scheduled for release on 17 April 2019.
