Hyderabad: 'The emergence of Artificial intelligence (AI) has led to applications which are now having a profound impact on our lives. It can simulate the information process of human consciousness and thinking.

AI is not human intelligence, but it can be like human thinking, and it may exceed human intelligence' said Dr. Amit Acharya, Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad.

He graced as chief guest and keynote speaker for the two-day 'AI-IoT Conclave', have been organizing by Department of EECE, School of Technology, GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad from February 28-29. Dr. Amit formally inaugurated the conclave at GITAM Campus by lighting the lamp on Friday.

'The theory and technology of AI have become more and more mature, and the application fields have been expanding. It is conceivable that the technological products brought by artificial intelligence in the future will be the "container" of human wisdom' he explained.

Dr. Amit mainly focused on VLSI for AI and IoT. He described many of his research works in this area like health care, missile technology etc. by showing the PPT. The IIT professor suggested reading their research papers published in Nature, Royal Society, IEEE journal etc.

Pinaki Laskar, CEO & Founder, FishEyeBox participated as guest of honour and strongly suggested that by using AI & IoT the researchers have addressed the problems facing by the society.

Another guest of honour, Amarendar Katakam, CEO & Founder, SmartBridge advised continuous learning and updated day-to-day emerging technology. He suggested reading the various blogs on AI & IoT, regular participation in Meetup groups and taking up the projects to get hands-on experience.

Earlier, Prof. K.Manjunatha Chary, HoD, EECE Department explained the objectives of this conclave and Prof. P.Trinadha Rao, Professor, EECE welcomed the guests and participants. Masood Ahmed, Convenor of the conclave proposed the vote of thanks. This conclave will be continued until tomorrow.
