3. This academic year around 18,00 students have applied for 200 M Com seats.

Tirupati: There is a full demand for studying M.com course in SV University. For the last two years highest number of students are opting the M.com course for post graduation study. When compared to other sciences and arts subjects interestingly this year also highest number of students have appeared to write the SVU admission test 2019 for M.com seat.

As whole 12,800 students have applied to write admission test to get seats in various subjects. In all the subjects officials have received applications in meager number. But this time also many number of students opted M.com computers as well as accountancy. Total available seats in M.com are only 200 including self finance course.

While around 1800 students applied for M.com course in present 2019-20 academic year. In last 2018-19 academic year SVU Directorate of Admissions (DOA) department had received application for M.com course around 1900.

After this course, MSC computers science was opted by the students in large scale. Total 1600 students have appeared for admission test for MSC computers science. MSC chemistry stood in next place, around 1500 application were received for above the course. Because of job opportunities there was good response for only M.com computers as well as accountancy courses. Main reason is for the last two years many companies were established in and around Tirupati and Sricity (Sathyavedu ) in Chittoor District. In these industries in HR wings every factory has required accounts and computer qualified employees.

In the back drop demand for M.com course is not only in university campus college, same demand is continuing for M.com seats in private PG colleges at Madanapalli, Chittoor and Tirupati too. Similarly after enforcing the GST there was huge demand increased for qualified accountants at income tax practitioners offices. This is also one of the main reasons rising demand among the students for M.com seats.

Speaking to The Hans India Joint Director of DOA Prof Deva Prasad told that availability of job opportunities increasing the demand for M.com computers and accountancy courses. Apart from M.com students are not showing much interest to choose other arts courses like Telugu, Tamil, Urdhu, Social Work, Sociology and population studies. Literally some departments have received only two digit number of applications. Prof Prasad added.
