Types of Sassa Grants and Payments 2024

Following are some types of grants and updated payment information about the Sassa program.

Old Age Grant

This grant is for people who are aged and are not able to do work or suffering from any kind of health issues. The age criteria for this grant decided by Sassa is above 60 years. Foster Child Grant

This type of grant is for those children who have no biological caretakers. They are orphans, missing from their parents or living indivisually. Such children will get R1 130 monthly until they get job or become financially stable in their lives.

Social Relief of Distress Grant

For those people who have suffered from a natural disaster like an earthquake, flood, pandemic, etc, Sassa raises funds for these needy people who experience hardships after these crises. They get monthly around R2 110.

Care Dependency Grant

R2 090 grant has been decided for children under the age of 18 who suffer from disabilities and they are dependent on their caretakers. Such patients need full-time medical care, and that’s why Sassa helps in raising funds for them.
