Best picture contest for photo journalists

Punjagutta: Former MP and Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday released a poster of 'Bathukamma Best Photo Contest 2019' being organised by the Greater Hyderabad chapter of Telangana State Photo Journalists Association.

The TRS leader released the poster in the presence of association president Anand Dharmana, general secretary Veeragoni Rajanikanth and treasurer N Shiva Kumar Meru.

Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha said that Bathukamma festival showcases the culture and traditions of Telangana. She hailed the role played by photo journalists in capturing the festive colours during the nine-day festival and also thanked the delegation for their efforts to take up photo contest.

The photo journalist representatives said that the photo journalists who cover the nine-day festival would have to send two of the best photos captured by them along with an entry fee of Rs 200.

The first prize for the best photo would be awarded with Rs 15,000 and Rs 11,000 for the second best and Rs 9,000 for the third best photo. Apart from these, there would be seven consolation prizes with Rs 5,000 each.
