Eight more colony parks for LB Nagar
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to establish eight parks under Haritha Haram programme.
LB Nagar: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to establish eight parks under Haritha Haram programme. Till date 32 parks have been developed in LB Nagar and surrounding areas. Once the remaining eight are completed it would a record say officials.
GHMC has identified the vacant lands in the residential colonies in LB Nagar zone includes Sai Leela Colony park in Ward no:1- Kapra Circle-1, Palle Paradise Colony Park, Ward no:2 - Kapra Circle-I, Vasavi Shiva Nagar Colony park in Ward no:3- Kapra, Circle-I, Bank Colony Park, Ward no: 10, Uppal, Circle-II, Vellugutta park, Ward no:10, Uppal, Circle-II, and Sri Nagar Colony park, Kapra, Circle-I.
G Yugandhar, the Deputy Director (Urban Biodiversity Wing), said, "The open lands which are now developed as parks were dump yards. We identified those plots and started developing them into the park under Haritha Haram programme and the land is around 2-3 acres." This park is simple parks which would have various medicinal plants, flowering plants, butterfly weed plants, palm plants and many more.
In 32 parks, they planted around 50-60 varieties plants and also in eight parks they are planning to plant around 40-50 varieties of plants. The parks would have several facilities including pathway, sitting benches, drinking water facility, and lawns.
"The estimated budget is around Rs 4-6 lakh for each park and work would be completed by the end of June. We are also planning to develop theme parks in our zone in the future," added the official.
