Journalists protest for resolution of issues
Journalists staged protest here at RDO office demanding resolution of their issues and submitted a memorandum to District Collector Dr MV Reddy on Friday.
Malkajgiri: Journalists staged protest here at RDO office demanding resolution of their issues and submitted a memorandum to District Collector Dr MV Reddy on Friday.
Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) gave call to stage protest at RDO offices across the state and submit memorandums to address their issues. The protesting journalists wanted to submit memorandum to local RDO but when they found that District Collector would be visiting the RDO office, they waited and submitted the memorandum to Collector and explained to him various issues being faced by them.
Speaking on the occasion, journalists decried indifference of Telangana government towards journalists' issues. They demanded the CM KCR of fulfilling the promises made to the journalists in the past.
They also demanded abolition of GO 239, issuing of accreditation cards to all mandal-level journalists, health cards with provision to get treatment at all corporate hospitals. Malkajgiri journalists, local leaders and others participated in the protest.
