Hyderabad : The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday alleged that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) was indulging in 'mud politics' over the relief work by the government and urged the State Election Commission to stop the benefit of Rs 10,000 to the affected people.

The TRS chief made these comments in the party's legislature party meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday. He said the BJP did not give a single rupee to the people but made efforts to stop the financial assistance being given by the State government by complaining to the State Election Commission.

He said that Ministers KT Rama Rao, Md Mahamood Ali and others were with the public when they were suffering because of floods. The government decided to provide primary assistance of Rs 10,000 to the poor as the Deepavali festival was arriving.

Already the assistance was given to 6.78 lakh people in the city and still many were waiting for the help and the government was also ready to provide them, Chandrashekar Rao said.

Alleging that the BJP had tried to stop the assistance, the TRS chief wanted people to see the attitude of the BJP. He said that the BJP adopted all lies and misleading campaigns in Dubbaka.

He recalled that BJP leaders tried to create a fake news that the party candidate Sujatha had asked for the photo of Harish Rao on the ballot paper and tried to hurt her. He also asked the people to be cautious with the BJP leaders.
