Chanchalguda: Father of an expatriate appealed to the Union Minister for External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, to intervene in the matter of his son, who was allegedly detained by UAE police which failed to disclose any details.

In a letter addressed to Union Minister of External Affairs, Sheikh Zakir Hussain appealed to rescue his son Saleem Sheikh Hussain from UAE. "This is to bring to your kind notice that my son, a resident of Premavathipet, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, holder of an Indian passport, was working with Dark Matter Company since 9th Oct 2017 in Abu Dhabi.

He called us last on 20th July 2019 at 10:00 PM from Flat No. 903, Lulu Express Building, Khalidiyah, Abu Dhabi. Later, on Sunday we were informed by his roommates that four officials claiming as police officers came for investigation and took him along with them," he stated.

According to details provided by Zakir Hussain, after completion of his agreement at Dark Matter Company, he later joined Saal Operating System Sole Proprietorship in Abu Dhabi on 8th July 2019. "On July 20, after the police took him into custody, both his numbers (+971553028430 & +971589006461) are not reachable. We do not know as to why was arrested.

We have made repeated attempts with the UAE authorities in order to ascertain whereabouts of him but apparently none of the officials were able to trace. Due to this, me and my entire family are in distress. Whilst appreciate the Union government's support on NRI," he noted.
