Osmania University: Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) handed over a memorandum to Registrar Gopal Reddy on Wednesday seeking reduction of mess deposits.
They questioned the State government why it was not providing free mess for university students while it was providing for Social Welfare Students. They expressed ire over the government for allocating Rs 309 cr to the University in the recent budget against the requirement of Rs 599 crore.
PDSU district president Nageshwara Rao, OU president Sumanth, secretary Gaddam Shyam, leaders Ramesh, Suvarna, Venkatesh, Praveen, Srikanth, Mamatha and others were present.
