Residents elated over GHMC clearing garbage
The locals on Monday expressed happiness after the GHMC sanitation staff cleared the garbage in division 113 using a JCB in response to an item ‘Nalas filled with garbage and overflowing’ published in The Hans India on August 31. The residents thanked THI after the staff cleared garbage in the nalas.

It may be mentioned here, that THI had also published items in the past on the piled-up garbage behind hotels located near the National Highway presenting a poor picture of the sanitation scenario. One item pertained to the hardship faced by people after stagnation of rainwater in the nala from the Old Revenue office to the local bus-stand.
Although the GHMC staff claimed that they were clearing the piled-up garbage regularly, they were dumping it unseen behind the hotels. As a result, heaps of garbage were formed, blocking the flow of rainwater. This caused severe inconvenience to the nearby middle-class residents.
