Rich tributes paid to Marri Chenna Reddy
Several Congress and other party leaders paid tributes to former chief minister Marri Chenna Reddy on his 101st birth anniversary at Marri Chenna Reddy Ghat here at Indira Park on Monday.
Ashok Nagar: Several Congress and other party leaders paid tributes to former chief minister Marri Chenna Reddy on his 101st birth anniversary at Marri Chenna Reddy Ghat here at Indira Park on Monday.
Among those who paid tributes include former MPs V Hanumantha Rao, Nandi Yellaiah, former ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Geeta Reddy, former legislative council chairman Chakrapani, CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy, president of Telangana Youth Congress Anil Kumar Yadav, Congress official spokesperson Indira Shobhan, Mallesh Yadav, Sunny Shetty, Jagadish Goud, K Hanumantha Rao, Marri Shashidhar Reddy and his family members and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the Congress leaders recalled their association with Chenna Reddy and described him as a strong leader and statesman, who accepted genuine criticism by opposition leaders while he was the Chief Minister. They urged present day leaders to emulate him and take him as a role model.
Shashidhar Reddy, former MLA and son of Chenna Reddy, thanked political leaders who remembered the services of his father and came to pay tributes.
