Khammam: Tafseer Iqbal, Commissioner of Police, has directed the officials to submit a report on measures taken by them to prevent accidents at black spots and other places on national highways that were prone to mishaps in the district.
At a review meeting on Thursday, Tafseer Iqbal discussed with police officials about road safety steps to be taken to avert accidents. He instructed cops to organise road safety awareness meetings with motorists in villages. Also, to erect sign boards and flexi banners to alert drivers regarding accident spots.
Calling to educate motorists about the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, the police chief gave strict instructions to cops not to allow parking of vehicles on either side of the highways.
Iqbal also reviewed the status of long-pending cases and cases under investigation and non-bailable warrants. ACPs Prasanna Kumar, Ramoji Ramesh, PV Ganesh, Satyanarayana, G Venkat Rao and other police officials were present.
