The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) CEO Dr E Sivanagi Reddy said on Thursday a 16th century inscription was discovered in the excavation works in the fields of Pochamma temple in the outskirts of S Amararam village of Kanchikacherla mandal in Krishna district.

The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) CEO Dr E Sivanagi Reddy said on Thursday a 16th century inscription was discovered in the excavation works in the fields of Pochamma temple in the outskirts of S Amararam village of Kanchikacherla mandal in Krishna district.

Dr Reddy accompanied by Subhakar Medasani and Chaityna Ravela sensitized the villagers on safe guarding the inscription and requested them to shift it to the temple premises.

He also requested the officials of the State Department of Archaeology and Museums to take measures to study the estampage of the inscription and its preservation. E Sivanagi reddy said that a survey was under taken as part of the “Preserve Heritage for Posterity” and discovered the 16th century inscription in Kanchikacharla mandal.
