Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra on Friday said that knowledge about AIDS was not enough and one should strictly follow the rules and should try to stop spreading AIDS.

Mishra participated in an awareness meeting on AIDS and interacted with the HIV positive declared children on the occasion of World Aids Day at his camp office here. The Collector said that as per the NACO (National AIDS Control Organization) guidelines, their motto for the 2017-18 year was ‘test all and treat all year’. He further informed that ‘My Health is My Right’ was the slogan for this year’s World AIDS Day.
The Collector also shared breakfast with the children.

JC Mallikarjuna, Additional Joint Collector Radha Krishna Murthy, Kakinada Mayor Sunkara Pavani, DM and HO Dr Chenchayya and other officials participated.

Pithapuram: The World AIDS Day was observed at the Government General Hospital here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, hospital superintendent Dr Vijaya Sekhar said that it was important to know how this disease spreads. He further informed that the disease was decreasing compared to previous years. He launched an awareness rally on AIDS. Dr Padma Sree Rajiv Gandhi Municipal High School children and teachers participated in the programme.
