Vijayawada: A rare and complicated surgery was performed successfully on a 10-year-old boy with broken bones, torn muscles and nerves at Life Line Trimurthy Hospital here, according to doctors of the hospital. A success meet was organised by the doctors of the hospital on Sunday to appreciate the feat.

A success meet was organised by the doctors of the hospital on Sunday to appreciate the feat.

Speaking to the media, Dr Y Suresh said that the boy, Dawood from a village near Eluru, was brought to the hospital with severe injury and broken right arm at different two places. “The boy was injured badly and his right arm was crushed in agricultural engine while he was playing,” he said.

Dr Suresh said operation was performed on the boy immediately within an hour. The right arm was totally broken at upper elbow and at the wrist. Broken bones, torn muscles and nerves were operated very carefully and successfully. Now the boy recovered and is doing well, he said. Dr Trimurthy Rao, anesthetist Anil and surgeon Ravi Teja were present.
