Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Secretariat on Friday as the employees of Secretariat Seemandhra Employees Forum (SSEF) and Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association (TGOA) resorted to counter sloganeering and came to near blows.
The tense moments were witnessed when TGOA president V Srininvas Goud went to the media point and the Secretariat employees behind him raised slogans against Seemandhra employees.
Within no time, both the parties entered into a war of words and almost came to near blows. Before the situation could go out of control, the cops swung into action and tried to separate them. Slogans countering each other and heated arguments were witnessed for a while, even as, the police team led by DCP Kamalasan Reddy had to put out all their energies to separate the two warring parties.
At one stage, SSEF employees, who raised slogans against TGOA like ‘down down TGOA’ and ‘Go back TGOA’, demanded that the police remove the non-Secretariat employees from there. Chief Secretary and Chief Minister were not in their chambers when the prevailed at Secretariat.
Earlier, while the members of SSEF took out a rally carrying placards against AICC general secretary and state in-charge Digvijay Singh and raising slogans like ‘Diggy go back’ and ‘We want justice’, the T employees countered their rallies by praising Congress high command and with placards saying ‘‘Sonia it is never too late to get rid of Samaikyandhra Pradesh Cyclone’, ‘It is 100 times more dangerous to Congress party than cyclones like Phailin, Helen, Lehar and Maadi cyclones and “CM Sir, the Ball is in your Court’.
The employees rallied from ‘L’ Block to Samata Block through ‘Out’ Gate and ‘H’ Block. Seemandhra employees led by its vice-president, K V Krishnaiah tried to light the effigy of Digvijay Singh, but police foiled the attempt.
