Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s aggressive stand against the draft Telangana Bill in the Assembly on Saturday invited the wrath of Telangana protagonists during the 65th Republic Day celebrations at PCC headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, on Sunday.
T Congress leaders led by Sama Krishna Reddy and Narendera Yadav created ruckus and raised slogans ‘CM go back’, even as PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana made all efforts to control the situation. Kiran at this point left for Parade Grounds where Governor ESL Narasimhan was to unfurl the national flag. Later, Botcha pulled up the members for their behavior and served show cause notices on two leaders.
Botcha told media persons that it was not proper for anyone to indulge in such activities on occasions like Republic Day. Referring to the Rajya Sabha elections, he exuded confidence that despite division of the State, Congress MLAs would vote for the official candidate and not do anything to cause any kind of embarrassment to the party. He, however, regretted that some people under the garb of Samaikyandhra were trying to put a rebel candidate. He also denied taking or giving support in the elections.
