Heavy rush at a queue line in Tirumala on Saturday

Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) stopped issuing Rs 300 tokens. The number of pedestrian devotees has also considerably increased. So the queue line is extended up to two kilo meters long. They have to wait 12 hours for the darshan, whereas common public have to wait for 24 hours. The devotees rushing here are not only from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but also from the nearby states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. All the 31 compartments in the Vykuntham queue complex are full. About 24,000 people were allowed for special Dashan.

Devotees alleged that the barbers were not adequate in number to meet the requirement. The rooms are not enough to accommodate the increasing rush. In addition to this, the sudden showers in the region also played a spoilsport. Devotees suffered in the queue lines, where there is no shelter. TTD has failed to provide alternatives in case of heavy downpour. On the other hand, the authorities scrapped the VIP darshans and appealed that they should postpone the tour.
