To lodge complaint with Centre against TS’ terror tactics

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to lodge a complaint with the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the alleged violation of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act by Telangana in the wake of the recent fund transfer issue in the Labour Department.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, the Media Advisor to the government of Andhra Pradesh Parkala Prabhakar said there was an agreement at the meeting of the Chief Secretaries of both the States earlier that AP could transfer its share of funds as per the Reorganisation Act to Vijayawada. It was according to this that the State had transferred its due share of funds of the AP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to Vijayawada, he added.Alleging that one of the officials of the AP Labour Department was called and was questioned by the Telangana Labour Commissioner in his office, Prabhakar asked as to by what authority the TS Labour Commissioner could interrogate an AP official.

Prabhakar said out of 21 lakh building construction workers, nearly 14 lakh workers were from Andhra Pradesh and claimed that still Rs 76 crore of funds belonging to AP were in the banks in Hyderabad. He alleged that Telangana had been terrorising officials and bankers by sending police and demanding banks to freeze the accounts in which AP had its due share as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
