Guntur: District Collector Kantilal Dande on Friday held a meeting with Revenue officials here to “speed up the process of land pooling” with barely a week left for meeting the deadline to acquire 10,000 more acres. Joint Collector Sridhar, who was present at review meeting, questioned the Tahsildhars as to why the process was delayed.

He asked Revenue officials to spell out problems confronting them . Kantilal Dande, while admitting the farmers in Undavalli and Penumaka villages are resisting the acquisition of the fertile land, directed the Revenue personnel to visit every house in the villages and explain to farmers the detail of package announced by the government in lieu of the land surrendered for capital city. He said those, who possessed plots even in approved layouts, should surrender their lands for the capital building project.
