Scores of people are suffering from diarrhoea in Palacole town of West Godavari district for the last three days. As many as 100 cases have been reported so far in four wards in the town. On Saturday alone 17 cases have been reported in 10,11, 12 and 16th wards of the town.

Palacole: Scores of people are suffering from diarrhoea in Palacole town of West Godavari district for the last three days. As many as 100 cases have been reported so far in four wards in the town. On Saturday alone 17 cases have been reported in 10,11, 12 and 16th wards of the town.

The epidemic broke out in Pedapeta, Shambunipeta, Veeravari Street areas and the patients are undergoing treatment in Community Health Centre of Palacole. The Medical and Health Department officials rushed to those areas and started special medical camp.

According to officials, 30 people are admitted in the community health centre and another 30 are undergoing treatment in the special camp arranged in DNR School. The remaining were treated and discharged from the health centre.

The Deputy DMHO John Kripavaram who is also a cluster officer visited the affected wards, while District Medical and Health Officer S Vijaya Gowry has been monitoring the situation in the town and enquired about the situation over phone from Eluru.

Mean While, knowing about the outbreak, the Government Whip of Legislative Council Angara Ramamohan, Palacole MLA Nimmala Ramanayudu visited the hospital and special camp. They enquired about the health of the inmates.
