In a major operation, the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday raided the house of a senior TTD official and simultaneously the residences of his close associates and relatives, leading to the detection of huge assets the official is possessing.

Tirupati: In a major operation, the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday raided the house of a senior TTD official and simultaneously the residences of his close associates and relatives, leading to the detection of huge assets the official is possessing.

A contingent of 10 ACB officials including 4 DSPs and 6 CIS involved in the raids on the houses of the TTD official Bhupathi Reddy who is working as deputy executive officer (local temples) here and also his son at
Bengaluru.

The searches by the ACB sleuths which commenced immediately after the dawn on Monday is still going on when reports last came in, leading to recovery of various documents of properties including 12 house sites, one apartment, a four-storey building and two bank lockers which are yet to be opened, belonging to Reddy and his family.

ACB sources said the complete details of the Bhupathi Reddy’s assets and their total value, amassed by Reddy which was disproportionate to his known sources of income, will be known by Tuesday. Sources said following allegations against Reddy on possessing huge assets, ACB took up the raid leading to the detection of huge property owned by Reddy.

It is pertinent to note that, ACB which was hitherto confined its raids to officials of government departments now turned its eyes on TTD officials and so far three officials were caught by the ACB, indicating the growing corrupt practices in the richest Hindu institution.
