Vuyyuru (Krishna): Former minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao on Saturday flayed the Telugu Desam Government for indulging in `unnecessary' expenditure in the name of construction of flyovers and other infrastructure projects while the State was facing a huge budget deficit.
Speaking to newsmen at his residence here, the former minister said the government instead of spending funds cautiously keeping in view the ensuing Krishna Pushkarams, was splurging huge amounts on infrastructure projects with long gestation. Questioning the rationale of the government behind proposing flyovers costing hundreds of crores of rupees on Anantapur – Amaravati highway, he said it should reconsider its priorities in the larger interests of people.
