The Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project (AP MIP) of the State government is all set to organise a first ever Horticulture and Mango fest in the city from Monday. The three day event is going to bring different kinds of fruits and flowers besides vegetables for the people to experience. 

The Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project (AP MIP) of the State government is all set to organise a first ever Horticulture and Mango fest in the city from Monday. The three day event is going to bring different kinds of fruits and flowers besides vegetables for the people to experience.

Speaking about the event, project director of MIP, PVS Ravi Kumar said that the expo at the grounds of Andhra Loyola College is planned to bring out the farmers' talent to the fore. Various procedures in cultivating fruits, vegetables and flowers will be demonstrated along with the display of produce.

The latest technology, machinery, techniques for yielding better crop, quality maintenance will be demonstrated by participants in the expo. Make shift stalls have been set up at the sprawling campus, where a few saplings of Mango tree were planted.

Several type of Mango fruits are going to be put for display. Seminars on topics like nurseries, display of ornamental plants, tissue culture, seeds, cold storages and green house will be held throughout the expo, he said.

The expo aims to benefit farmers, students, researches, horticulture engineers, nursery organisers, enthusiastic gardeners, and polytechnic students, he added. The expo will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu.
