Eluru: Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha has said that within two years, the State Government has shown two-digit growth under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The Rajya Sabha member, Thota Sita Ramalakshmi, inaugurated the Maha Sankalpam by lighting the Jyoti.

Addressing the public on the occasion, the Minister said that after the TDP came to power the growth rate had risen to 10 per cent from 8.3 per cent and it was because of the efforts of the Chief Minister.

She said that the Telugu Desam Government strived hard for establishing a healthy, clean and happy State. She called upon the people to cooperate in constructing a world-class capital for Andhra Pradesh people. She reiterated that the Government was committed to complete the Polavaram irrigation project by 2018.

She said the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, developed the State within two years even it was facing the financial crisis. She said the Congress had bifurcated the State in an unjustified manner and later the TDP had come to power.

She explained the welfare activities taken up by the government on the occasion. The Minister earlier garlanded the bronze statue of late Chief Minister NT Rama Rao at the fire station centre.

Eluru MP Maganti Babu Eluru MLA Badeti Kota Ramarao Bujji MLC Ramu Suryarao Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan, Collector K Bhaskar, SP Bhaskara Bhushan Joint Collector P Koteswara Rao, Additional SP Chandrasekhara Rao, former MLA Ambica Krishna, Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha former chairman Pali Prasad and others participated in the programme. Cultural programmes were conducted on the occasion.

As the public meeting conducted on the busy crossroad of fire station centre, public faced severe problem to pass on to Two-Town area from NR Peta and other areas. Police blocked the hospital road and fire station centre road up to IADP road.
