Vijayawada: Film star Mahesh Babu in association with Andhra Hospitals organised a school health clinic for children in his adopted village Burripalem on Wednesday to mark his daughter Sitara’s birthday.
Dr PV Rama Rao, Chief of Children’s Services of Andhra Hospitals, Dr Bhoojata, Dr Rama Krishna, Dr Ramesh and Dr Swarupa conducted the health clinic.
A total of 268 children of Burripalem were examined at the clinic. The meeting also tried to raise awareness among villagers about precautions to be taken to keep seasonal diseases at bay.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rama Rao said Mahesh Babu had proposed to develop Burripalem as a model health village in the State in association with Andhra Hospitals.
A mega health camp would be organised by Andhra Hospitals at Burripalem on August 9 to mark the birthday of Mahesh Babu, he said.
