Minister informs that special mobile clinics and mobile medical teams will tackle fever cases in the district

Eluru: Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha asked medical and health officials to tackle vector-borne diseases such as such as dengue, malaria etc.

She participated in an awareness meeting on viral diseases that are spread through mosquitoes at Government Area Hospital in Jangareddigudem on Sunday.

Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that the awareness meeting was conducted in the wake of rise in cases of dengue. She said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wanted all the officials to work with dedication to fight viral diseases.

The Minister informed that special mobile clinics and mobile medical teams will tackle fever cases in Agency and rural areas. She said the municipal officials are spraying and fogging all wards. She also asked medical and health officials to conduct awareness campaigns to educate people on how to prevent viral fevers.

The Minister vented ire at medical superintendent Dr D Bhaskar Rao for not maintaining cleanliness in and around the hospital. She informed that more doctors and nursing staff will be appointed in the hospital soon.

She said to control the spread of malaria, the focus is on two aspects. The first being early detection and treatment of suspected cases. For this purpose, all fever cases have to be identified early and treated quickly. The second step is to control the breeding of mosquitoes, through biological and chemical methods.

DMHO K Koteswari, ITDA PO Shan Mohan, Jangareddigudem RDO S Lavanna, Area Hospital superintendent D Bhaskara Rao and district coordinator of health services Shankara Rao were present.
