Undoubtedly, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu used to maintain a different approach with district TDP functionaries during the last two and half years due to his own reasons. Chittoor: Undoubtedly, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu used to maintain a different approach with district TDP functionaries during the last two and half years due to his own reasons. Probably, the debacle of TDP in the last Assembly and Parliament Elections witnessed in his native turf would be the one of the reasons for CM to keep the district TDP leaders a little bit distant in several respects.
In order to put a check on the district functionaries, CM has empowered district collector Siddarth Jain to act independently without taking in to consideration of the interference of district TDP leaders
In the last Assembly and Parliament Elections, the TDP had won six assembly seats out of 14 and one MP seat out of two in Chittoor district. The CM is said to be unable to forget the defeat of the last polls and digest the winning spree of his nearest rival YSRCP. In order to put a check on the district functionaries, CM has empowered district collector Siddarth Jain to act independently without taking in to consideration of the interference of district TDP leaders it is suspected.
In Chittoor district, the YSRCP won 8 Assembly seats and one MP seat also besides Rajampet MP seat also in the last elections. During the last and two and half years, CM has delegated full powers to District Collector Siddarth Jain. As a result, the ruling TDP legislators and Chittoor MP are said to be frustrated with the functioning of district collector Jain. They cautioned the TDP high command that the party would meet a serious set back in the next elections if Jain is continued.
As CM has made it clear that there was no question of transferring Jain, the district TDP legislators and the lone MP are in deep depression reportedly. Mean while dissident groups in district TDP have flared up like anything apparently. Lack of cooperation and coordination among the TDP legislators and TDP president has been witnessed in the district. Many of the TDP dignitaries of the district have foregone the intimacy with the CM.
They are unable to meet the CM and express the issues relating to the district it is also learnt. Apart from it, in the last MLC elections for Teachers and Graduate constituencies, the TDP nominees have lost the polls while PDF candidates Srinivasulu Reddy and Balasubramanyam have won the race.
It is public secret that G. Muddu Krishnama Naidu is also sailing in the same dissidence boat along with Chittoor MP Dr. N. Siva Prasad. Muddu Krishnama Naidu who used to play a crucial role in the development of the party earlier is now confined to his native constituency. He used to keep aloof with TDP since a long time. The voice of Muddu in district TDP is unheard during the last 11 months.
With regarding to the serious allegations made by Chittoor MP Dr. N. Siva Prasad against the CM directly, the reason is very clear that TDP leaders of the district have lost the accessibility to meet the CM frequently. Inducting the turn coat Amaranath Reddy into CM’s cabinet has developed discontent in a certain community it is felt. Stage has been set to take stringent action against Chittoor MP Dr. N. Siva Prasad.
The TDP high command is supposed to send a show cause notice to Chittoor MP with in a couple of days seeking his explanation for making baseless allegations against CM. Owing to CM’s indifferent attitude towards district TDP leaders , dissidence among the senior leaders is brewing it is observed.
