Guntur: YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy amid loud cheers from his supporters at the party plenary on Sunday announced that he would take up padayatra from Idupulapaya to Ichchapuram from October 27.
Immediately after re-elected president of the YSR Congress Party, Jagan said he would begin the 3000-km-padayatra emulating his father YSR’s Prasthanam after offering prayers at Tirupati. He will visit all the districts and know the problems and issues of the people before ending the yatra at Ichchapuram on the northeastern tip of the state.
Rolling out the assurance of a slew of welfare measures, Jagan said the YSR Congress is the future and TDP will be blown away in the ire of the people who are vexed with the anti-people policies of the state.
Addressing a mammoth gathering on the concluding day of the plenary here, immediately after being elected president of the party for a three-year term, he said there are nine issues which they will take up immediately after coming to power and will bring back the golden era of YSR.
Assuring sops to farmers, DWACRA women, students besides pensions, education, housing, health, fees reimbursement, jobs, jalayagnam and discouraging liquor consumption as the main focus areas of the party, he called upon the party cadre to fan out far and wide and propagate that these are the assurances with which Anna will be coming to seek mandate.
If elected to power, the YSRCP leader said he would waive crop loans up to Rs 50,000 to the farmers having up to 5 acres of land. The farmers will be paid Rs 12,500 every year and the scheme will benefit 6-lakh farmers in the state. He assured to sanction interest-free loans and pavala vaddi loans to the farmers. He announced waiver of loans taken by the SHG women, because Chief Minister N Chandrababu had cheated them.
If elected, his government will pay Rs 500 and Rs 750 per month to the students of 1st to 5th class and 6th to 10th class students, respectively. Those who study above 10th class will be paid Rs 1000 per month.
