Govt schools in Prakasam first in AP to have digital classrooms

Parchur: The Minister for HRD and Education, Ganta Srinivas Rao, announced that Prakasam district will be the first district in the state to get digital classrooms in all the government schools in a year.
The Minister inaugurated digital classrooms arranged in 19 government high schools in Parchur constituency from the venue at Zilla Parishad High School in Martur on Friday. He said that all 3920 government schools in the district will be provided complete infrastructure in a year. “As the Prakasam district does not have a university, we are planning to start one in the district and complete the construction of IIIT soon” he added.
There are 323 government high schools in Prakasam district. Among them, the NRIs provided digital classrooms in 57 high schools including the 19 in Parchur constituency through AP Janmabhoomi program. Another 161 high schools received sanctions for providing digital classrooms. For the remaining 105 high schools, the NRIs already came forward to provide digital classrooms in 60 high schools.
The special representative for Andhra Pradesh in North America, Komati Jayaram, Parchur MLA Eluri Sambasiva Rao, former ZP chairman of Guntur Pathuri Nagabhushanam accompanied him. The MLA said that the government wants to provide private school like facilities in all government schools.
