81-yrs-old woman burnt alive

A 81-year-old woman was burnt alive in a fire mishap in Upparapalem village under Ponnur mandal in the district on Wednesday. According to police, Tirupatamma was sleeping in her hut when it caught fire at 6.30 am.
Guntur: A 81-year-old woman was burnt alive in a fire mishap in Upparapalem village under Ponnur mandal in the district on Wednesday. According to police, Tirupatamma was sleeping in her hut when it caught fire at 6.30 am.
She burnt alive as the hut was reduced to ashes in the incident. Her daughter Bhagya Lakshmi, who is residing with her in the hut, went to agriculture fields when the mishap occurred. Neighbours who noticed flames tried to put off fire and save her, but in vain.
Her charred body was shifted to the local government hospital for post-mortem. Ponnur town CI K Nageswara Rao rushed to the spot and enquired about the accident. The CI said a case had been registered and investigation was on.
