Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon continued to be normal in coastal Andhra Pradesh and weak in Rayalaseema. Rain occurred at many places in the coastal districts and at a few places in Rayalaseema, the Met department bulletin said on Monday. There was heavy rain in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Guntur and Krishna districts.
The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Veeraghattam (Srikakulam district), Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram) 6 each, Gajapathinagaram, Denkada, Pusapatirega, Jiyyamma Valasa (all in Vizianagaram) 4 each, Palasa (Srikakulam), Garugubilli (Vizianagaram), Atchampet (Guntur), Mentada (Vizianagaram), and Nandigama ( Krishna) 3 each.
The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few/isolated places in coastal and Rayalaseema districts from July 10 to 13.
