Kadapa: Daily wage labourers, private employees, workers employed in small firms and others have thronged to Anna Canteen to avail quality and hygienic food here on Wednesday. Minister Adinarayana Reddy has launched Anna Canteen in the compound of Zilla Parishad office on Wednesday. The state government had sanctioned 11 Anna Canteens for the district in which 4 for Kadapa city.

On Wednesday, one each Anna Canteen was inaugurated in Kadapa and Proddatur. C Venkata Ramana, a house construction worker, said that he has been spending Rs 60 to have a lunch in the hotel. “Now, I had breakfast and meal for two times for just Rs 15 only at Anna Canteen,” he stated and thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his initiative.

Speaking to The Hans India, M Ramakrishna, a private employee, of Gangarajupalli village in CK Dinne mandal, said that his wife has been waking up 4 in the morning to prepare lunch for him and his kids.

“I am feeling relaxed as I can walk into the Anna Canteen and can eat breakfast and lunch at my convenient time for lesser price,” he stated. The government gave directions for issuing 350 tokens only per day but requests pouring to issue 1,000 tokens. District Collector Ch Harikiran and other officials were present.
