World Population Day observed in Vijayawada
World Population Day WPD was observed at Maris Stella College here on Wednesday
Vijayawada: World Population Day (WPD) was observed at Maris Stella College here on Wednesday.
In this regard, Dr Josephin Sandhya Rani, HoD Economics department urged the students to focus on the importance of population issues.
She said the theme of the day for this year was ‘Family Planning is a Human Right’.
Addressing the gathering, she said that the department had organised various competitions to school students to sensitize them on population issues.
Drawing and painting competition was organised on topic ‘Small family-Happy family’.
The topic for elocution was ‘Children by Choice, not by Chance’.
Quiz competition was also held and the winners were given prizes.
About 100 students from various schools participated in the competition.
